One of the places I ride the most is North Cooper Lake Park. I hit it like 9 out of 10 local rides, unless it's too wet or something. It's just super convenient, and a bit more fun and strenuous than you might expect for a local trail.
The property itself is pretty interesting too. There's an old, abandoned sewer treatment reactor on part of the property. About half of the rest of the property is an old landfill, with all manner of things sticking out of the ground along the trails. And, for the longest time there was an old radio tower there, with all kinds of cables running into a blockhouse up near the road.
A while back they cleared the land that blockhouse sat on, demolishing it in the process. About a month ago, I rode by and noticed that the antenna was finally down too.
I'm not sure if it was taken down, or if it just fell down though. We had some really mean storms come through right before this, with some super high winds, so neither would surprise me.
