In keeping with the trend of notable local rides...
Mid last month, a gate in a fence near my house had been open for the past few weeks (and has actually continued to be open since). There are no keep out or no trespassing signs back there, and there's just woods behind the fence. I was always curios about it, so last month, when I had the opportunity, I went to check it out.
Turns out there's a pond back there:
...complete with an old sunken boat.
There was also a road leading around the pond, and another road just leading off into the woods, parallelling the rail leading into the local industrial park.
Along that road lay this old hulk.
Mapquest says Burrell Coffey Motors used to be a dealer further east on Bankhead (Hollowell). It might be Coffey Automotive Group now, also located on Hollowell. Funny that it's just down the same road.
It wasn't too much fun riding back there, except for hopping a bunch of downed trees, which actually was kind-of fun, but it was cool to see that pond and it's always neat to find old wrecks.
